
During the third cultural relics survey nation-wide,two places of stone-carved statue of Buddha were discovered in Yanqing Ba Da Ling National Forest Park.After investigating by several Beijing relics experts,it appears the relics were built in the late Yuan and early Ming period according to the initial identification.
It is reported that the two places are covered by shrub and minor part of the statues is weathered with heavy moss in the lower part.This discovery occured in the third cultural relics survey nation-wide.The experts initially identified that the relics were built in the late Yuan and early Ming period.According to the experts,stone-carved statue of Buddha has been seldom found in Beijing area,especially in terms of its size and integration.The regime in Yuan Dynasty is the unification of politics and religion .Yanqing was a important channel linking capital and Mobei.It served as cultural transmission gallery as well.This is why so many statues have been found in Guangou.
